Three Killed In Tragic Accident at Road-Railway Crossing

On October 23, 2021, there was a fatal crash between a pickup truck, a sedan, and a cargo train in Bloomington, Texas. The 34-year-old driver of the pickup was traveling at a high speed when he hit the back of the sedan while it was waiting for a train to pass. The sedan was pushed into the train, killing both the 51-year-old driver and the 19-year-old passenger. The pickup driver later died at the hospital.

According to statistics from the Federal Railroad Administration, there have been 135 total train accidents at highway-rail crossings in Texas, up from 106 in 2020. As people return to work and traffic conditions return to pre-pandemic levels, it is important to remember to drive safely and responsibly.
